Cookie Policy
Last updated: 24 May 2026
1. What this policy covers
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies (collectively, "cookies") Delta El Nile for Industry uses on this website, what data they collect, where that data goes, and how you can change your preferences at any time. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
2. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small piece of text that a website asks your browser to store. Cookies let a site remember things between page loads — like which language you chose, whether you have agreed to analytics, or which A/B test group you are in. Some cookies are set by us (first-party). Others are set by third parties whose scripts we load (third-party). Similar technologies — like browser localStorage and sessionStorage — are also covered by this policy because they serve the same purpose.
3. Categories of cookies we use
3.1 Essential (always active, cannot be disabled)
These are required for the site to function. They do not track you across sites and do not contain personal identifiers. They store under GDPR Article 6(1)(f) "legitimate interest" because the site cannot operate without them.
| Name | Purpose | Type | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
delta-cookie-consent |
Stores your cookie consent choice (accept analytics or essential only). | localStorage | 1 year |
delta-lang |
Remembers which language (EN/AR/FR) you selected. | localStorage | 1 year |
delta-ab-assignment |
A/B test bucket (a or b) for measuring layout variants — internal use only, no personal data. | localStorage | 90 days |
delta-shortlist |
Stores SKUs you added to your product shortlist (only if you used the shortlist feature). | localStorage | Until cleared |
3.2 Analytics — Plausible (privacy-first, cookieless)
If you enable analytics, our site loads Plausible Analytics — a privacy-first, cookieless analytics tool. Plausible helps us understand which pages are useful to visitors — for example, which products draw the most interest from which export markets — using only aggregate, anonymous data. It is loaded only after you click "Accept all" or enable analytics in the preferences center. If you reject or do not respond, Plausible is never loaded.
Plausible sets no cookies. Unlike Google Analytics, it uses no cookies, no localStorage identifiers and no device fingerprinting — so there are no analytics cookies to list here. It counts visits using a daily-rotating, non-reversible hash that contains no personal data and cannot follow you across sites or days.
4. Where analytics data is processed
Plausible Analytics is a privacy-focused, GDPR-compliant service hosted in the European Union. The aggregate, anonymous usage data it collects (page paths, referrer, country, device type, browser — never personal data, and IP addresses are never stored) is processed on EU servers. Nothing is sent to Google, and no analytics data is transferred to the United States. No data is sold, shared with advertisers, or used for cross-device or cross-site tracking.
Privacy properties of Plausible:
- No cookies and no browser or device identifiers are used.
- IP addresses are never stored; visitors are counted with a daily-rotating, non-reversible hash.
- No cross-device or cross-site tracking, and no advertising, remarketing or audience export.
- Data is aggregate and anonymous — it cannot identify an individual visitor.
5. How to change your preferences
You can change your cookie choice at any time. Three options:
Option 1 — Open the preference center now:
Option 2 — Reset and re-prompt: Click this link to clear your stored choice — the consent banner will reappear next page load.
Option 3 — Browser-level controls: All major browsers let you block, delete, or selectively allow cookies. Instructions: Chrome · Safari · Firefox · Edge.
6. Your rights
Under GDPR (EU/EEA) and Law No. 151 of 2020 on Personal Data Protection (Egypt PDPL), you have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict its processing. To exercise these rights, contact: privacy@deltaelnile.com. See our Privacy Policy for the full list of rights and how to exercise them.
7. Changes to this policy
When we materially change this policy or add new cookies, we update the "Last updated" date and bump the consent version — which means the consent banner will reappear and ask you again. Minor edits (typo fixes, link updates) do not trigger a re-prompt.
